The Yukon Human Rights Commission (the Commission) is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of individuals and organizations who access our website. The Commission does not automatically collect your personal information (i.e. your name, phone number, or e-mail) if you browse or download from our website. The Commission will only obtain this information if you voluntarily provide it to us by contacting our office.
Some information, such as your Internet domain name or IP address, may identify you. The extent of personal information that the Commission receives when you browse our website is dependant upon the “naming standards” followed by your Internet service provider. You may wish to check with your provider to inquire about their policies and practices in this regard.
To the extent that our web server may collect personal information, that information is used only for the operation and security of our website. As a general practice, the Commission does not attempt to identify individuals accessing our website using their IP address. We do not accept complaints under the Yukon Human Rights Act, RSY 2002, c. 116 from our website to minimize the amount of personal information collected over the Internet.
If you choose to give us personal information, then the Commission will only use it in accordance with subsection 34(2) of the Yukon Human Rights Act, RSY 2002 c. 116 which states:
- Personal information under the control of the Commission shall not, without the consent of the individual to whom it relates, be disclosed or be used except
- (a) in the proceedings under this Act or for any other purpose for which the Commission obtained the information or a purpose consistent with the purpose; or
- (b) in accordance with an order or rules of procedure of a court or other adjudicative tribunal.

The Commission does not endorse and may not have control over the content on hyperlinked websites. The Commission does not represent, guarantee, nor does it assume liability for the accuracy, reliability or completeness of the content on hyperlinks or our website.
